Description

This hotfix resolves three known issues in the 8.0 release and should be applied to SecureAuth IdP 8.0 builds on Windows 2012 R2 shipped before September 24, 2014.

Issues resolved in this hotfix:

1. Authentication Error Message: Error messages appear because the IdP application directory in IIS and its corresponding IdP physical path have not been created in the appliance.

2. Deleted Realm Error: The error is a result of a bug in the rc.js and rc.min.js files found in the D:\SecureAuth\SecureAuth0\Scripts folder.

3. User name / Password Error message: The error is a result of a bug in the secureauth.foundation.dll file.

Hotfix Release Date: September 24, 2014

Applies to

SecureAuth IdP 8.0 builds on Windows 2012 R2 shipped before September 24, 2014.

This update stops the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC, aka IIS) before any updates are made. All user sessions are reset when this service is stopped. This service restarts after the update is complete. We recommend performing this hotfix during your normally scheduled maintenance window to ensure there is no unexpected downtime for your users.

Issues and Causes
Authentication Error Message

Why: The error messages display because the IdP application directory in IIS and its corresponding IdP physical path have not been created in the appliance:

  • This error displays when users enter their username/password even though the data tab has been successfully configured to talk to the domain.
  • This error also displays when navigating through the web admin UI, an authentication error occurs when the Data tab of a realm is clicked; this forces the user to log back into the web admin UI.

Deleted Realm Error

Why: The error is a result of a bug in the rc.js and rc.min.js files found in the D:\SecureAuth\SecureAuth0\Scripts folder.

  • When creating a new Multi-Data store Web service realm, clicking the X next to the Data Store realm closes the membership window which cannot be reopened. The error displays after a realm has been deleted. When the Data tab is saved and then reopened, [object Object] displays in the location where the deleted realm was located. Once this happens, all of the Profile fields at the bottom of the screen disappear.

User name / Password Error message

Why: This error is a result of a bug in the secureauth.foundation.dll file.

When the appliance is configured for user name/password workflow and the user enters an invalid user name and/or password on the landing page, the authentication error displays instead of the expected user name and password message.
